Stored in this browser only. Your invoice — and your client's — never leaves this tab. There is no account and nothing to upload it to. Clearing your browser data deletes the draft, so use JSON backup to keep or move it.

Line amounts are quantity × unit price. Any discount is applied before tax and spread across the lines in proportion to their amounts. Tax is calculated on each line at the line's own rate and rounded half up to the smallest unit of GBP. Free, unlimited, unwatermarked: the document is yours, so the download always is too.

The guide

How to make an invoice for free

  1. Step 1

Type your business details into From, then your client into To. “Save as my profile” keeps them for next time.

  2. Step 2

Add each line item with its quantity, unit price and tax rate — lines can carry different rates, and quantities can be fractional.

  3. Step 3

Set the currency, an issue and due date, an optional discount, and download the PDF on A4 or US Letter.

CapyInvoice is a free invoice generator that runs entirely in your browser. The draft and your business profile are kept in this browser's own storage, and the PDF is built in the tab — there is no account, no server copy and no upload route in the code.

The arithmetic is done the way an accountant checks it: every amount is held as an integer of the currency's smallest unit, tax is calculated on each line at the line's own rate, and the rules are printed in the PDF's fine print so the numbers can be verified.

Any ISO 4217 currency works, with the right minor units — yen with none, dollars with two, dinars with three — and every export is free, unlimited and unwatermarked.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes — every invoice, every time, with no watermark and no account. The JSON backup is also free, so your records are never trapped in the tool.

Where do my invoice details go?

Nowhere. They are typed, stored and printed in your browser. Clearing your browser data deletes the draft, which is why the JSON backup exists.

Can different lines have different tax rates?

Yes. Each line carries its own rate, tax is calculated on each line, and the totals group the rates — “Tax at 20%” beside “Tax at 0%”, for example.

What file do I get?

A PDF with selectable, copyable text on A4 or US Letter, in embedded open-licence fonts — not a picture of an invoice.
